Utah offers several events of this kind throughout a year. St George area hosts the most visited Parade of Homes every February showcasing the most outstanding house samples in Southern Utah. Another well-known spot is Utah Valley which invites all for its Parade of Homes in the month of June.

In the Regent home, as you turn and look back at the front door, there was beautiful stone on the wall, painted white brick on the wall of the entry mixed with the wood planked ceiling. I just returned from the 2021 Utah Valley Parade of Homes last week and my mind is STILL blown by the incredible design ideas and new home construction projects that I saw. I took a TON of pictures and talked in depth with the builders and designers, so that I could share all the latest home and design trends with you guys.

When added to a guest bedroom or at-home school room, large-scale wallpaper can easily be mistaken for a hand-painted mural. Located in Ivins' newest fine home development, the Ledgestone will surely draw you in. With fresh contemporary design elements, this home is not to be missed. This beautiful, energy-efficient twin home is located in a quiet neighborhood near great schools and parks. The open floor plan is designed to satisfy any family and includes main level living with vaulted ceilings, three bedrooms and two baths. The Parade of Homes was created by the National Association of Home Builders as part of the National Home Week campaign in 1948. The parade was a marketing event promoting home ownership and the latest in housing design, construction methods, and products in fully furnished model homes. Again, we see more layered texture with painted brick walls on the kitchen, which was thin traditional brick with a messy mortar wash and then painted.
Bye-bye white walls and monochromatic colorways—playful wallpapers continue to be a popular trend for 2022. From serene painterly flowers to novel patterns worthy of a double-take (we’re looking at you, squirrel-covered bathroom), wallpapers offer a variety of extraordinary statements for your walls. Here, we’ve gathered our top picks for playful wallpapers spotted at the 2022 parade. The exterior is limestone mixed with board and batten. I also saw a lot of limestone on exteriors this tour and I especially love it here mixed with the dark trim and roof. A stunning and fresh combination that again is a great example of how we’re moving away from “tradition farmhouse” into more modern European design.

One of the trends that I noticed throughout this year’s tour is that modern farmhouse is evolving into modern European design with some farmhouse elements. I saw this European influence repeated in almost every home and this particular home from Regent is the perfect example. Self-Help Homes is a proud member of the Utah Valley Home Builders Association and past participant in the Home Builder’s Parade of Homes for two years running. The experience brought great exposure for the Self-help program and to the families building their homes to the community at large.

The juxtaposition of color brightens the space despite the sparse natural light source. Ticket entitles visitor admittance to each of the homes once during the 10-day event. The ticket has an additional benefit allowing two repeat admittances to two of your favorite Parade homes.
It could be that they mixed 50/50 SW Porpoise with SW Urbane Bronze, which is one shade darker than porpoise because the color on the exterior looks a tad darker with direct sunlight. I feel very confident that the color is somewhere in that range. Photo courtesy of Utah Valley Videos.A lush countryside mural adds a calming atmosphere to this home’s primary bedroom. The designers color-matched verdant hues with the painted ceiling to create the feeling of a forested oasis.
I was surprised just how much I loved the basement family room in the Regent home. I fell in love with the mix of stone and dark cabinetry, which is painted with Farrow and Ball Studio Green. This room was so pretty for a basement family room. There were so many little details that I picked up on in this kitchen that my brain was in overload!
Lastly, I loved the exterior of the Jensen MM Home, which reminded me of a Cape Cod compound. As you walk into the home, I loved the wood planks on the cathedral ceiling with the vertical beams. In the image below, you can really see just how amazing this stone wall is and I was so amazed that it was just a 2″ stone veneer that they layered mortar over.
