In the hustle and bustle of modern life, indulging in self-care has become a necessary ritual. Whether that’s lounging in a private spa or sweating it out in a reclusive sauna, finding retreats within the home is sacred. Those participating in the 2022 UV Parade of Homes know this all too well. In lieu of over-the-top primary bedrooms or the great rooms of yesteryear, many homes featured private sanctuaries that tested our restraint not to enjoy them ourselves.

One of the trends that I noticed throughout this year’s tour is that modern farmhouse is evolving into modern European design with some farmhouse elements. I saw this European influence repeated in almost every home and this particular home from Regent is the perfect example. Self-Help Homes is a proud member of the Utah Valley Home Builders Association and past participant in the Home Builder’s Parade of Homes for two years running. The experience brought great exposure for the Self-help program and to the families building their homes to the community at large.

Do you happen to know, or have a guess, on the grey paint color of the bathroom cabinet next to the round mirror in the first home? My kitchen color and stain plan matches their bath choices and I am, of course, every searching out the right grey. I have to stop now because I have so many images in this post that I’m afraid if I add any more images, the post will have trouble loading. You can see “Part 2” here and again, if there is a home you want to see more of, let me know in the comment section so I can decide which homes to share full home tours with a Q&A with the builders. Next up is another favorite home that I toured that was an INCREDIBLE new large horse farm in the Mapleton area of Utah Valley.

I was surprised just how much I loved the basement family room in the Regent home. I fell in love with the mix of stone and dark cabinetry, which is painted with Farrow and Ball Studio Green. This room was so pretty for a basement family room. There were so many little details that I picked up on in this kitchen that my brain was in overload!

Get the latest local design trends delivered straight to your inbox. This event has a long-standing tradition of displaying a variety of spectacular homes and introducing exciting new trends to attendees across the state. The homes are set among breathtaking landscapes only found in Southern Utah. The best of the best in home design, building and products. The exterior was so pretty and I really LOVED the stunning modern oak garage doors. Interesting that I noticed a lot of black cabinetry, doors and trim in several of the homes including all the interior doors in the Regent home.
The Salt Lake Parade of Home follows it in the month of August. The 2023 St. George Area Parade of Homes is no ordinary Parade. It is the largest Parade in the state featuring 30 new homes full of the extraordinary.
This beautiful, energy-efficient twin home is located in a quiet neighborhood near great schools and parks. The open floor plan is designed to satisfy any family and includes main level living with vaulted ceilings, three bedrooms and two baths. The Parade of Homes was created by the National Association of Home Builders as part of the National Home Week campaign in 1948. The parade was a marketing event promoting home ownership and the latest in housing design, construction methods, and products in fully furnished model homes. Again, we see more layered texture with painted brick walls on the kitchen, which was thin traditional brick with a messy mortar wash and then painted.
As we prepare to welcome you to the country’s longest-running Parade of Homes™, our builders want you to understand there will be procedures in place to protect your health and safety. These measures will be updated as we get closer to the event dates to follow the most current guidelines shared by our local health departments and government leaders. Bye-bye white walls and monochromatic colorways—playful wallpapers continue to be a popular trend for 2022. From serene painterly flowers to novel patterns worthy of a double-take (we’re looking at you, squirrel-covered bathroom), wallpapers offer a variety of extraordinary statements for your walls. Here, we’ve gathered our top picks for playful wallpapers spotted at the 2022 parade. The exterior is limestone mixed with board and batten. I also saw a lot of limestone on exteriors this tour and I especially love it here mixed with the dark trim and roof. A stunning and fresh combination that again is a great example of how we’re moving away from “tradition farmhouse” into more modern European design.
